Artist Statement
I create one-of-a-kind Hand Painted Silk Wearables, Accessories
and Wall Art. Every piece is a signed original.
I am the sole creator - I begin my process with a piece of white
silk. I use silk paint and apply many watercolor techniques using
brushes and other implements. My unique style of painting, along
with my original pattern design and meticulous garment construction,
enables me to create an expression of timeless beauty and style
that is museum quality. I am creating pieces that are pleasing
to the eye, sensual to the touch and soothing to the soul.
By expressing my creativity through the art of fiber, I have hoped
to increase the awareness, understanding and appreciation of the
medium. I truly believe art is nourishment for our spirit.

Gem Carver and Goldsmith
As both a gemcarver and goldsmith, I am able to achieve my artistic
interpretations of the beauty of natural forms. I am the sole
creator of every facet of the jewelry I produce and a purist who
believes every aspect of a piece should be handmade by the artist.
I use diamond tools, many of which I make, to cut, carve and polish
the gemstones. I then alloy 24K gold into 14K, 18K or 22K and
roll out my own sheet and wire, etc. to use in my hand fabricated
goldwork. Australian Opal, Diamonds, Tourmaline, Topaz, Fire Opal,
Citrine and Amethyst are some of the gemstones I use.
I am primarily a self-taught artist, however, I fine tuned my
goldsmithing skills with Phil Poirier and studied stone cutting
and carving with Master Gem Carver, Lew Wackler.
